Harvard Courses

Harvard Course guide used by over 7000 students annually.

Role: Lead UI/UX Designer // Front-End Developer

I was tasked with redesigning the Harvard Course guide used by the majority of Harvard students on campus. I wanted to build a clean, efficient and beautiful UI that successfully navigates and organizes the massive amount of data (thousands of courses, a rating system, comment system, personal data, social data etc).

I built a system of color labels which quickly associated courses with the school division that they fell into. The colors remained present through the list/search view, the detail panel, the calendar view and the user organized groups.

To make the years of course data palatable, I built out an animated visualization for each course.

For saving courses, I implemented a list system in which the user can generate categories, organize their courses based on time, and see what courses their friends are taking.
