CS50 Homepage
The homepage for the Harvard introduction to computer science course taken by over a hundred thousand annually worldwide.
Role: Lead UX/UI Designer
The CS50 Homepage was a particularly challenging design problem as it is accessed by over 100,000 people worldwide with very different backgrounds and very different use cases. I had to design so that the massive amounts of information generated from the course weekly would be accessible and enjoyable to everyone from those on Harvard's campus to those in third world countries.
The homepage was built around the concept of conveying that it is a living thing. A constantly updatingfeed dominates the homepage filled with everything from that week's problem sets to video production of hackathons.
To further organize and individualize the large data set, I designed a panelling system which through animation, folds outward as you navigate down into the course. This gives the user a sense of spacial awareness, organization, and it just looks really cool.
